There is a provincial election in BC on October 19th, 2024 .

Here is some information you need to know:
1.There are new electoral districts /ridings in Greater Vancouver and some electoral districts/ridings have changed their name. For many of us this is confusing, as we have voted in a certain electoral districts/ridings for years and now we find ourselves in new electoral districts/ridings.
You can call elections BC at 1-800-661-8683 for clarification
2.It is best to register to vote, but you can register on advance voting or on voting day.
Many of us have received cards in the mail telling us that we are on the BC voters list.
If you have not you can phone elections BC at the above number (but there is a cutoff date) or register to vote at the advance poll or on October 19th .
To register to vote in British Columbia, you must be:
– a Canadian citizen,
– 18 or older,
– a B.C. resident for the past six months,
Registering in advance has many benefits. Registered voters will receive important updates from Elections BC, including information about where, when and how to vote. Registering in advance also makes the voting process faster and easier.
3.Ways to vote
There are several ways you can vote. They are:
– In person at your district electoral office. You just go into the office and tell them you want to vote. Phone BC Elections to find out where is your district electoral office.
– Vote by mail. You must request a package in advance and it must be returned by 8 pm on voting day. If you request a vote by mail package it can be done by the phone or online until October 13th.
– At the advance polls. These advance polls are between October 10-13 and October 15-16. You can vote at any advance poll. There will be an advanced polling station at the 411 Senior Centre, for all eligible voters.
– On voting day October 19th. You will be given a card with a location to go an vote but you can vote anywhere if it is more convenient.
