Dental Care Is Essential To Overall Health.
- Tooth decay is the most common, yet preventable,
childhood chronic disease in Canada. - 50% of low-income Canadians have no dental coverage
along with a majority of seniors over the age of 60. - Poor oral health can lead to serious health problems
including heart disease, diabetes complications, and lifethreatening infection.
Once in place, the new Canadian Dental Care Plan will provide coverage for 9 million Canadians. It will represent the single biggest expansion of our public health system in over 50 years.
