  • Hi, do you know when low and moderate income seniors will receive the one time, tax free $1,200 designed to assist seniors with the high cost of living? It will be distributed through CRA I believe. Thanks, Patti

    • Hi Patti, thank you for reaching out!.
As of March 2025, there is no official information regarding a one-time, tax-free $1,200 payment for low and moderate-income seniors distributed through the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). While there have been past initiatives to support seniors, such as the one-time $500 payment in August 2021 citeturn0search0, and ongoing programs like the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) citeturn0search2, no current programs offer a $1,200 one-time payment.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on benefits and support for seniors, I recommend regularly checking official government sources, such as the Government of Canada’s benefits page citeturn0search2, or contacting the CRA directly.
