The Homeless Outreach Program (HOP) and Homeless Prevention Program (HPP) are BC Housing-funded streams that are run by individual organizations in nearly every city across BC. These programs work with seniors who are currently homeless or are at-risk of becoming homeless by offering practical supports with things like housing applications or temporary rent supplements. Representatives from communities including Cranbrook, Hope, Kitimat, and Prince George spoke with the Navigation & Peer Support Community of Practice to share insights and perspectives on how their communities are experiencing senior-related housing issues as well as how they are using the HOP and HPP programs to support seniors find and maintain appropriate housing.
