Volunteering at 411 Seniors Centre

411 Seniors Centre has had the good fortune to count on a strong army of volunteers who sustain the day-to-day activities at 411.   

Reception volunteers are prompt to respond calls from the community who reach out with the requesting of services. Monday to Thursday, two volunteers daily from 9 to 4:00PM are available to welcome visitors and book appointments for the information and referral service. 

Information and Referral (I&R) volunteers are also ready to assist seniors to guide them through enquiries and processes that require their knowledge and expertise about services within Canada for those 55 years of age and older. I and R volunteers are available remotely, connecting with seniors though phone calls and e mail. 

Board of directors, 411 is led by dynamic these volunteers have the duty of care; ensuring proper use of all assets, including any and facilities, people, and good will, the duty of loyalty, also they ensure that all the organization’s activities and transactions are furthering its mission, and duty of Obedience, they ensure that the centre complies with any applicable laws and regulations related to its operation, follows its own bylaws and policies. 411 Board of directors are currently meeting online and will be going through a period of renovation as a big part of them their appointment ends this period. 

Admin and community development volunteers; participation in community and social events are an important piece of 411’s efforts to be involved and current with the evolving sociocultural environment it’s immerse. An active presence, a punctual support and an amazing disposition to stuart 411 wherever they go are some of the assets volunteers playing this position offer to 411.
