Notice by 411 Seniors Centre Society

In October, 411 member Rosario Larion participated at the annual Sandy Cameron Memorial Award & Writing Contest presented by the Carnegie Newsletter. Rosario’s introduction to art started with the  Zentangle art. Always on her go, Rosario keeps creating and enhancing her artistic skills exploring different art types.

“As English is my second language, the thing that matters for me the most, was to enter the competition – winning or losing.  Being a newbie poetess, it felt great to express an interpretation of a student’s life from my perspective (as they inspired me while working at UBC as a sales attendant). My name got called out right away as a third-place winner for the writing contest. I cried like a baby, it meant a lot to me”

Congratulations, Rosario!
